Default What skills are needed to become an Accounting Technician?

An accounting technician has to be skilled with numbers, with thorough knowledge of accounting, understanding of working of business, thorough analytical skills, multitasking, and communication skills. An understanding of how financial systems and businesses operate is highly essential. An accounting technician must be able to work under high pressure situations, without compromising on accuracy. He or she should be thoroughly organized while simultaneously handling various functions and people. He/she is responsible for accounting, budgeting, payroll and forecasting tax liabilities. High levels of work ethics, honesty and integrity are also demanded of accounting technicians at all levels.
