Talking Qualifications required to becoming an Accounts Clerk?

Maths qualification is the essential prerequisite of finding a job as an accounts clerk. GCSE (A-C) including maths is the basic qualification most employers ask for. However the requirements can vary with place. Previous work experience is also a requirement for most firms that employ accounts clerk. Temporary working under an accountant or taking up internship opportunities give you essential exposure into the working conditions of an accounts clerk.

An accounts clerk needs to be comfortable handling computerised accounting with sound knowledge of use of spreadsheets and database software. The formal educational qualifications can include AS or A Level in accounting and the various training courses conducted by Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), International Association of Bookkeepers (IAB), Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB), or similar institutions.

Accounts clerk gain considerable skills and expertise while on the job, working under an experienced accountant or in a team of accountants.
