Default Qualifications required to become an Advocate in Scotland

You need to complete vocational training. The qualifications like an honours degree in Scottish Law from a university (2:2 or above) is the most desirable qualification. You can also get into the legal profession as an advocate, if you have a degree in Scottish Law, with an honours degree (2:2) in any other subject. The universities that offer Scottish law usually require you to have at least five S and five Highers, including English. You can start your vocational training after completing the academic stage.

After starting as an advocate, you can take further qualifications, which are available from Scottish universities. There are also continuing education programs, workshops and certificate courses that you can opt for, throughout your career.
