Default What does an Airline Pilot do?

An airline pilot operates an aircraft, flying passengers and cargo to places around the world. It is a very challenging job, which demands high levels of responsibility. They make sure everything is in order before the flight, by checking fuel levels, instruments, engine, safety systems, etc. You will also work with the air traffic control to work out the best routes. You will also brief cabin crew about the take off and flight schedules and give proper instructions to them.

They take instructions from the air traffic control, adjust the routes according to changing weather conditions and strictly follow the landing instructions from the control. You will also prepare flight reports after landing. You will also report any unusual events or problems the aircraft or the trip has experienced.

There are usually a pilot and co-pilot in all such flights. There can also be a flight engineer onboard, to monitor the proper functions on onboard instruments.
