Default Qualifications required to become an Art Gallery Curator

You need a degree or higher qualification in art or art history. Different universities and colleges offer courses that will qualify you for becoming an art gallery curator. You will also benefit from experience managing an art gallery. Depending on your place, you can find volunteering opportunities, which can give you critical skills and knowledge of running an art gallery. You can also go for NVQs in Cultural Heritage. Once you join an art gallery, you can also continuously update your skills and knowledge by attending short term courses on offer from universities and colleges. The Continuing Professional Development scheme by Museums Association is also another choice you can make use of.
