Default What Skills are needed to Becoming and Arts Administrator?

An arts administrator posses various skills including good communication skills, organising skills, accounting & computer skills, ability to work under high pressure, capabilities to managing timelines, and a keen understanding of commercial implications of arts as a business. An interest in any one or more art forms is an essential prerequisite. Problem solving capabilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to organize and prioritise work and ability to meet deadlines are essential skills.

The openings in this field are not generally advertised and your keeping in touch with relevant persons at all levels can be helpful in getting a job. Good people management skills can take you a long way.
