Default What does a Bailiff do?

Bailiffs, also known as enforcement officers are responsible for carrying out court orders, serving summons and preparing for repossession. Sometimes you deliver summons issued by courts. Your duties can include collecting/repossessing goods from people who have failed to repay loans or defaulted on payment of utility bills. Certified private bailiffs for civil enforcement agencies and are responsible for collecting rent or mortgage arrears on behalf of banks and local authorities. Your duties can also include making arrangements for recouping arrears, talking to debtors, negotiating repayment plans and arranging for repossessed goods on auction. You will follow strict guidelines while delivering your duties. You are also responsible for keeping records of actions taken.
