Default What skills are needed to become a Building Control Officer?

You need a thorough understanding of building regulations. You must also be knowledgeable about the cost implications and technical aspects of construction of buildings. You need good communication skills, professional demeanour, tactful approach and ability to implement laws fairly. Good problem solving skills, attention to detail, and good team working skills are also essential. You will also need to have good time management skills, organisational skills and ability to explain legal and technical matters.
