Default What does a Bursar do?

A Bursar, commonly known as school business manager is responsible for overseeing the business administration of a school. You will work at the school, providing management and leadership on critical business issues. You also deal closely with head teacher, check budgets, and assign resources in the most efficient manner.

As a bursar, it will be your responsibility of financial management. You draft and implement a budget plan, keep records of finances, and offer advice to school management on budget and financial planning when needed. You also assign duties to order supplies of goods and services. You will also oversee the processing of salaries.

You will also deal with the public, press and oversee marketing and business goals. You will also prepare reports for the management and other bodies, who have direct stakes in the school.
