Default Qualifications needed for becoming a Bursar

You will need qualifications in business administration or management. Experience also counts. You also can benefit from advanced degrees in accounting, public administration, etc. You can also work your way up from the post of school secretary. However, when looking for promotions from lower grade posts, you need to update your qualifications by taking relevant courses offered by different colleges. You can always study part time or by distance learning to get the additional qualifications required to become a bursar.

You can work for qualifications like NVQ level 4 or 5 in management or school administration. Certificate and diploma courses in school business management, offered specifically for working professionals also can help. One year MSc in Educational Leadership (School Business Management) by the National Association of School Business management also is helpful.
