Default What does a Car/Fleet Manager do?

A car or fleet manager is responsible for the smooth functioning of a car-fleet business. He/she will be knowledgeable about the operations of a fleet business and provide administrative and management support to the business. He or she will try to generate new business, upgrade the fleet and keep the fleet in good, operative condition. They are also responsible for overseeing periodic maintenance tasks, checking mileage and managing costs.

A car fleet manager also prepares accident reports and use sophisticated computer systems to keep track of availability data. They will also keep track of the vehicles' depreciation and looks for ways to source vehicles at lower costs. They will manage the existing fleet and coordinate replacement of existing fleets.
