Default What does a Catering or Restaurant Manager do?

Catering/restaurant managers make sure the restaurant or catering services meet high standards to meet customer expectations. They make sure the service and food are of good quality and the customers receive good service. Catering or restaurant managers work, wherever food is served – hotels, eateries, fast food chains, etc. The duties can also include welcoming customers to the restaurant and guiding them to their seats. Sometimes you are responsible for running your own restaurant/catering business, while at times you may be responsible for the management of a canteen at a big company or a factory. Job openings are also available in variety of settings like education, NHS, etc.

A catering or restaurant manager runs the business as his/her own and undertakes responsibilities like recruiting & staff training, marketing, planning menus, planning staff workload, budget control, overseeing hygiene & safety standards, etc. Even if you are not the owner of the business, you are fully responsible for what your customers get and how your business is run.
