Default What Qualifications are needed to Becoming a Charity Fundraiser?

More than any formal qualifications, it is your commitment to work with the charity, deriving creative ways of fundraising and ability to manage finances are the basic requirements. Your creativity, skills and commitment are all things that your employer would look at. If you have experience in fundraising, it will be a bonus. Your experience in sales can also be helpful. Qualifications in marketing, event management, public relations, etc are also helpful.

You will learn the skills and creativity you need while on the job. You will be dealing with big finances and you need financial management skills, database skills, and ability to working with computers and spreadsheets. There are several short-term certificate courses, which also act as qualifications for the post. The Institute of Fundraising is the door to knock.
