Default What does a Civil Service Administrative Officer Do?

A civil service administrator officer works in any of the several government departments or agencies, delivering public services or managing government programs. You will be responsible for dealing with the public – face to face, over the telephone and by post. You will handle variety of clerical jobs, keep records updated and process finances. You will also mine data for specific information, keep records by photocopying and/or keeping a filing system. Variety of administrative tasks is there on your shoulders and you will be responsible for handling variety of queries and complaints by the public.

There is regular work hours, as you will work 36 hours a week, Monday through Friday. Work outside normal business hours are restricted to certain departments, where you will need to work in evening or weekend shifts.
