British coastguards protect the seas from intruders and prevent illegal traffic & smuggling activities. They also coordinate search and rescue operations along the coast and oversee the general security situation of the coasts. The coastguards are also responsible for handling emergency (999) calls, providing timely safety information to the public, etc are also the responsibilities of coastguards.
Coastguards are provided with boats, life-saving equipments, etc to ensure smooth management of the operations. Coastguards collectively protect the coasts and the country from illegal activities and possible risks of infiltrations, smuggling, etc while ensuring protection for fishers and people who may fall victims to dramatic weather changes. They coordinate rescue operates, coastal searches, and ensure essential supplies when needed. They are agile, strong and capable of delivering their duties under tough conditions, which include fighting against rough weathers.
