A computer service and repair technician installs computer hardware, troubleshoot problems and repair computer systems. They are responsible for smooth running of all the machines. Computer service & repair technicians can work alone from their own business, with a big IT company or with an IT servicing company. They also work for computer & computer peripherals manufacturing companies. The duties include installing new hardware, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.

You will also run troubleshoots to identify and remove viruses, identify problems of working of computer peripherals like printers, scanners, etc. The responsibilities also include upgrading office systems, identifying requirements of new installations, and running routine tests. A computer service and repair technician is responsible for the smooth running of the computers that they have installed or are managing. Sometimes your duties can also include training IT & other staff on the safe use of the computers and peripherals.
