Qualifications required to become a Construction Manager
You need a degree or advanced level diploma in civil engineering, building engineering, construction engineering management, etc. You can opt for BTEC HNC/HND courses too. Sometimes you can find employers to sponsor your studies, where you are required to work for the sponsor after your completion of the course.
You can also become a construction manager by gaining experience in the field by undertaking administration tasks, or working as a building technician or supervisor at a building site. Once you get into the sector, you can usually find better training to be fully qualified as a construction manager. In normal cases, your employer will give you training on variety of areas like estimates, planning, procurement, etc. You can also opt for NVQ in construction site supervision, site management, contracting, construction project management, etc.
