Default Qualifications required to becoming a Court Reporter

To become a Court Reporter the foremost things you must have is the excellent command of English language and know machine or written shorthand. You must need a speed of 160 to 180 words per minute at the starting level. You can increase it by training. For a real-time reporting you must need a speed of 200 words per minute. If you have reached a speed of 180 words per minute then you can become an associate of British Institute of Verbatim Reporters (BIVR). By getting this you can work on your own in the court. And after 3 years you become eligible for full membership of BIVR. Training to learn reporting is very essential for a Court Reporter.

If you want to become a Court Reporter then you need a high quality English language and should write without any spelling mistakes or grammatical errors.
