Default What does a Court Usher do?

Court Ushers help smooth running of the court. Your duties include preparing the courtroom, checking whether all the different parties are present, calling witnesses and defendants, administering oaths, managing documents, pieces of evidence, etc and recording the proceedings of the court. Your duties can also include typing, filing, photocopying and inputting data to computer systems. You will also escort jury/magistrate to/from the courtroom, take messages between persons like lawyers, legal advisers, jury and judge.

You might get a good idea of what your jobs are like – planning and organizing the courtroom and seeing into the matters of smooth functioning of the court, are the biggest responsibilities you have.
