Default What skills are needed for a Credit Controller?

The most important skill is numerical skill. You must have a good working knowledge of maths and should be able to use computer programs to pull data. You also need to have an analytical mind, with a good understanding of defaulters’ behaviour. You will also benefit from good communication skills, negotiation skills and calm demeanour. You will be working under extreme pressure, without losing out on details. A good understanding of consumer and business credit recollection laws, sound judgement, etc are also essential. You will always be dealing with tricky situations and should be assertive, while dealing with defaulting customers and clients.
