Default Qualifications required to becoming a Customs Officer?

The basic qualification for assistant officer job includes five GCSEs (A-C) including English and maths. Qualification to officer job includes five GCSEs (A-C) plus two A levels or equivalent. Persons without these qualifications can take a selection test, where various skills and capabilities are assessed. The exact entry requirements can vary according to the position you are applying for.

You must also meet nationality requirements to be absorbed as a customs officer. Some jobs are open to European Union nationals and for citizens of commonwealth countries. You will receive training after you are absorbed, which can last for nine months. Staff appraisal program also lets you choose the training programs you require. The jobs are advertised in HMRC and Civil Service Recruitment Gateway websites, which will tell you in detail about the qualification criteria. Within HMRC, there is a clear organisational structure. You will also be promoted according to your qualifications and experience.
