Default What does a Dance Movement Therapist do?

Dance movement therapists are alternative/complementary therapy professionals, who help their clients use dance movements to deal with psychological, emotional and physical issues. The main objective of dance movement therapy is to help clients express themselves through physical movements. It also helps people develop confidence, body awareness, and to express their feelings vividly.

As a therapy, it can help people get relief from addictions, develop communication skills, manage emotional imbalances, etc. Children suffering from autism can also benefit. Persons showing several emotional imbalances can also benefit from the therapy. The therapist helps the persons develop better self-awareness, self-esteem and to develop communication skills.
