Default What Qualifications are needed to become a Diplomatic Service Officer?

There are different grades within the service and the qualification depends on the grade you are applying for. C4 Fast Stream Officer needs degrees with at least class 2:1 in any subject. There are also different tests to pass.

For executive assistant (A2), you need at least 5 GCSEs (A-C) including English and maths.

Administrative Assistant (A1) required 2 GCSEs (A-C) including English.

The selection process can involve different stages. In some higher grades, the recruitment process can last for up to 12 months.

Your experience in management or administration will be helpful while applying for jobs in the Diplomatic Service. The jobs are available for British citizens only and you should have lived in the UK for at least two years in the past ten years. You will also be subjected to security checks.
