Default What Skills are needed for Diplomatic Service Officers?

Every job in the Diplomatic Service is tough and a demanding one. You will be working in any part of the world, dealing with people of all different cultural and social backgrounds. You should have a methodological approach to your duties, with good problem solving skills. Good communication skills, diplomatic skills, and an active interest in learning local culture and languages are essential traits. You will be tactful and diplomatic in your getting on with people of other countries. Ability to act fast, decisively and according to situations is a must. Most importantly, you should be continuously learning international affairs in detail.
