Default What skills are needed to become a dog handler?

You have to be experienced with dogs and have the skills of handling one. Good observation skills and ability to judge situations accordingly are essential. You will also need to take orders and act on your own according to the situations. You are put to work under extremely tough situations, depending on where you are employed. You might be asked to work for long hours (sometimes 24 hours a day). The job is physically demanding and extremely tough and not everyone can manage the demands quite convincingly. High levels of alertness, understanding of individual situations and ability to cope with situations of all kinds are also essential.
