You need a good understanding of legislations and regulations regarding equal opportunities provisions. You will also benefit from relevant work experience. If you have a degree in law, it is helpful. Other subjects worth pursuing at degree level include psychology, sociology, community work, etc. You can also opt for post graduate qualifications in race and ethnic relations, disability, equality, etc. Some organisations need specific qualifications to meet entry requirements, which can be variable.
In most cases, you can take further qualifications like NCFE Level 2, Level 3 Certificates in Equality and Diversity. You also can opt for postgraduate qualifications and professional qualifications. There are also several workshops, training programs and short courses offered by colleges.
