Default What Does a European Union Official Do?

European Union officials deliver their duties in one of other of the nine European Institutions. They include European Commission (the civil service of EU), the Court of Justice, European Parliament, and other departments.

Their responsibilities include prosing of news laws, maintenance of EU laws, administration and management of various programs and plans by EU. They look into the matters of agricultural policies, EU programmes and budgets. They also act as ambassadors of EU and represent EU in different international venues.

They are also responsible for managing staff, finances and equipment. They conduct researches and submit reports on success or failure of various programmes, and suggestions for new laws. Other responsibilities according to your grade of appointment can include translation, interpretation, etc.

In most cases, you will work for most of the EU departments.
