Default Qualifications required to become a Facilities Manager

You need both technical qualifications and management experience to become a facilities manager. You can get the qualifications in the form of a foundation degree, BTEC HND, etc in facilities management. HND or degree in management and business studies also help. If you have experience or qualifications as a surveyor, accountant, etc, it can also help. Your experience in hospitality management, construction, engineering, etc also can be helpful.

You can also get into the position, even if you don't have specific academic qualifications. However, you will need to prove your experience using administrative and organisational skills. There are also part time courses that can qualify you. After you start working, you can gain further qualifications like British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) qualification.
