Default What do Forensic Computer Analysts Do?

Forensic Computer Analysts are in demand today, as more business transactions, family communications and confidential data are stored and passed through computers and computer networks. Criminals now find an easy target on unsecured computers, computer networks and they try to hack into secure networks of banks, national security agencies, and a lot more. The job of a Forensic Computer analyst is to extract evidences of computer or network based crimes.

Forensic Computer Analysts use variety of tools – both software and hardware to extract data from hard discs, which may have used for illegal activities like hacking, sending spam emails, political or industrial espionage, terrorist activities, child pornography, etc. The data will be there even if the hard discs are formatted, damaged or encrypted. Forensic Computer Analysts report each stage of their investigation to higher authority, police, or other clients as per the requirements. Forensic Computer Analysts are also the prime witnesses at Courts of law.

They work for national security agencies, police, banks, IT security firms, etc.
