Default Qualifications required to becoming a Forensic Computer Analyst

You need to have graduate or post graduate degrees in computer science or IT segments. You will also need to pass industry certification and have undertaken training in computer/network security. Persons in this particular job are also required to keep themselves thoroughly up to date to the latest events related to IT crimes – through newspapers, whitepapers and through technical communications from computer security firms, national security agencies, etc.

Your experience as network administrator with responsibilities of security, prevention of hacking, etc will be useful. You may also take courses that include laws related to computer crimes, forensic analysis methods, operating systems, etc. Such courses are give you some understanding of the working of cyber forensics. However, you may be assigned a specific role after joining as a Forensic Computer Analyst and you can pursue the courses aimed at specific roles. There are quite a few universities that offer certificate courses at various levels.
