Default What do Health and Safety Advisers do?

Health and Safety Advisers work at places of business, manufacturing and construction, planning workplace designing to prevent accidents and injuries. The safety recommendations are based on set procedures for safety of workers. You will also educate employees and workers on the safety standards and procedures. The coverage includes fire safety, hazardous materials, machinery, etc.

You will be responsible for formulating safety protocols and procedures, carrying out regular safety checks and advising safe practices around machinery, hazardous materials, etc. You will also keep records of accidents and health risks. You will suggest improvements whenever needed – like designing walk ways, placing big machinery with moving parts and handling materials like gases, acid, inflammable liquids, etc.

You will also prepare reports of the safety standards in place at the workplace. You are also required to keep up to date to the rules regarding safety of employees.
