Default What does a Health Service Manager do?

Health service managers work in hospitals or related organisations, where they manage the day to day running and long term management of the place. They ensure there are enough facilities available for the patients, for the physicians and for other staff members. They are also responsible for managing finances, budgeting and ensuring an overall management of the facilities and people.

They supervise the staff, manage day to day administration tasks, set up budgets, are responsible for implementing management policies, and deal with negotiations. They also interact with providers of facilities and other services that the hospital uses. They manage contracts, and ensure the objectives of the hospital are met.

There are also specializations like administration, finance, technical and clinical.
