Default What Skills are needed to Becoming a Health Service Manager?

Health Service Managers works in dynamic environment and should be able to cope with changing environments and able to work under stressful conditions. He/she will be dealing with confidential data and should respect the nature of the information you handle. Good communication skills, negotiation skills, presentation skills and ability to motivate others are essential traits. You will also be dealing with press and the public.

You need to have strong mathematical skills, ability to use computer programs and must possess financial management and budgeting skills. Ability to analyse costs, and keeping records of all activities is also essential.
