What does a Helicopter Pilot do?
A helicopter pilot flies private or commercial helicopters. Helicopters are used for leisure, emergency response and for commercial purposes. Your duty can also include flying helicopters for conducting search and rescue operations in the sea. You are responsible for the safety of the helicopter and the passengers. You will be knowledgeable about the working of helicopter engines and will be easily managing tasks like charting routes, planning maximum load and running routine security checks. You will keep in contact with air traffic control, prepare flight reports and file duty log.
The job requires good levels of physical fitness, as you will be flying to remote areas and working under demanding weather conditions.
