Default What does a Helpdesk Professional do?

Helpdesk professionals offer customer support for customers of computer, computer peripherals and software. You may be working in the IT department of a major business or for a computer manufacturing, sales or service company. Your duties include offering technical support to customers who have problems installing their software or hardware. You will offer telephone, email or face-to-face support to customers, helping them identify and rectify the problems. You will guide them through the process. If necessary, you will send a technician or engineer to the home or office of the customer.

You will keep detailed call and support logs. The latest trends involve customer/technical support over internet and you will be using online (remote) support.
