Default Qualifications required to become a Hospital Play Specialist

A Level 4 BTEC Professional Diploma in Specialised Play for Sick Children and Young People is the basic qualification you need. You also need to register with Hosptial Play Staff Education Trust. To get into the diploma course, you need a qualification like diploma in childcare, NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development. If you have experience in childcare (as a volunteer or paid staff) is also helpful.

You can start practicing after getting the diploma and after getting registration. You can further your qualifications, skills and knowledge by taking ongoing development programs. You can attend workshops on psychology, counselling, etc. Taking training courses are also essential for re-registration, which happens at five years.
