Default What skills are needed to become a Hospital Play Specialist?

You will benefit from a good understanding of child psychology and ability to communicate with the children, parents and caregivers. You also need a good understanding of therapeutic play and its role on child development. You need to have good organisational skills. Good listening skills, creativity and a ability to plan and run therapeutic practices are also essential skills. You will mostly be working with NHS, at children's hospitals, or at children's units at other hospitals.
