Default What Qualifications are required to Becoming a Hotel Receptionist?

Most employers will look for reasonably good education. Some GCSEs with English, maths, etc can be helpful. Sometimes, you will also be required of having experience in telephone operation, customer service or other office reception tasks. You can also benefit from qualifications like certificate or diploma courses in hospitality, front office operations, etc.

You can further your qualifications by opting for NVQ Level 1 in Hospitality (Front Office) or similar courses, which you can attend while still continuing your career. More than the qualifications, your skills play even bigger roles in getting the job you need. You can also gather skills by opting for any apprentice programs that give you exposure to reception and front office management.
