Default What qualifications are needed to become a Housekeeper?

Relevant experience in the field is the biggest qualification you need. Your experience as room attendant can help. You communication skills, organisational skills and motivation skills matter when it comes to recruiting to the post of a housekeeper. You can also look for qualifications like BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality Supervision, NVQ in hospitality supervision, etc can also help.

The qualifications will help you move to higher levels like senior management posts for housekeepers. For this, you need to attend and pass degree courses in subjects like hospitality management.

You can also receive on the job training and qualifications – like NVQ Level 2 in Housekeeping, Hospitality Supervision, etc.
