Default What skills are needed to become a Human Resources Officer?

A good understanding of human nature and ability to interview potential candidates are the primary requirements. Good communication skills – both verbal and written – are essential. You will be able to ask leading questions in a tactful manner. Assertiveness, attention to detail, fairness and objective handling of situations are all essential. You should be discrete while communicating confidential information. You should be able to deliver your services under stressful conditions.

A human resources officer will have good organisational skills, and ability to take objective decisions while under stressful is essential. You will be keeping in contacts with HR personnel and potential employees in all different industries. Ability to develop contacts is one good skill that HR officers can always benefit from.
