Default What does an Information Scientist do?

An information scientist works in an office where large amounts data are created or are used. Industries like science & research, business, medicine & legal practices, manufacturing, etc make use of the services by information scientists. They also work with universities, libraries, etc. Their duties include keeping information up to date and easily available to students, colleagues or clients. You are required to organise the information contained in paper and electronic files. You will also make the information available in a user-friendly manner.

Your requirements will include cataloguing, researching, and answering queries by colleagues, managers, or other parties. You will also make available the information available through intranet (or the entity's computer network). You will also be required to write reports, write website content and to train colleagues use the information management systems.
