Default What does an Insurance Technician do?

An insurance technician works at an insurance office, usually under an insurance broker, offering services like handling insurance application, quoting premiums using standards rates, helping customers file claims, etc. You are also responsible for administrative tasks like filing, keeping up to date records, sending out mails & faxes, etc. You will also answer customer questions, whenever they reach you face to face, over the phone or over e-mail or post.

You will also have reasonable experience handling claims applications, details of premiums paid, arranging for payments due, etc.

In addition, you will also advise customers on the type of insurance products available and communicate to them when it is time for paying premiums.
