Default Qualifications needed for an Insurance Technician

Apart from reasonable levels of general education, employers don't generally look for specific qualifications while recruiting insurance technicians. Most of the skills you gain during the initial phase and during induction training. You need GCSEs (A-C) including English and math. You also will benefit from experience in handling administrative tasks. Higher qualifications of any kind, especially in office administration, business management, salesmanship, etc can be helpful.

There are apprenticeship opportunities in the insurance industry, which pay you while you learn the skills of the trade. There are also certificate and diploma courses specially aimed at insurance professionals. You can take them while on the job.

Most importantly, you should improve your customer support skills and understanding of all the insurance products currently available.
