Qualifications required to become a Licensed Conveyeancer
The basic qualification you need is four GCSEs (A-C) including English. Most legal conveyance pros will have qualifications in law – law degrees. If you have the basic qualification, you can work towards passing Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) exams. That is, you don't need to have a law qualification to begin with, although it is desirable. If you have experience at a solicitor or licensed conveyancer officer, you can sidestep the minimum qualification requirements too. If you are a solicitor, practicing conveyance, you need to apply for the license and there aren't many tests.
You can opt for further qualifications and training after starting working as a licensed conveyancer. You must have at least two years of experience working under a qualified employer (a solicitor, another licensed conveyancer). You can also study for CLC exams, while one the job. You will only receive a first/limited licence at first. You need minimum three years experience before you get full licence and you are able to start your own business.
