Default Qualifications required for becoming a Local Government Officer?

The educational qualifications, technical qualifications and skills required vary according to the department you intend to join. You may also undergo tests before inducted. You will need educational qualifications like degree, relevant work experience etc. Sometimes the educational qualifications requirements can vary, if you have sufficient experience running an office.

Different institutes have management courses and training programs, which will also qualify for officer and management posts. You will receive induction training. You can also go for qualifications like NVQ, certificate or diploma courses, etc in administration, management, democratic services, etc. You can also go for qualifications specific to your department – like housing, education, etc.

In most cases, you can join as an administrative assistant and work your way up to local government officer and other posts.
