A willingness to work under uncomfortable conditions like confined spaces or cold environments. Physical fitness, alertness, confidence in taking decisions and ability to lead are all essential. You will also need to handle the mechanical tasks yourself – machinery of all kinds including communication devices, engine, electrical components and more.
