Qualifications required to become a Motor Vehicle Fitter
You can get into the field through a variety of streams. If you have a few GCSEs including English, maths, IT, etc, you can get into the field. You can start as an apprentice, from where you can gain the skills needed. Different fast-fit companies have apprenticeship openings almost throughout the year. You can also take City & Guild certificate or diploma in vehicle maintenance and repair. BTEC certificate and diploma courses are also there.
Once on the job, you can also work towards NVQ in vehicle fitting, tyre fitting, etc. You can also go for qualifications like Transport Engineering Maintenance, which comes with mechanical, electrical and body repairs works.
