Default What skills are needed to becoming a Museum Assistant

Good communication skills, customer service skills, ability to remain alert, awareness of the issues of running a museum, reacting to emergency situations, etc are all needed for the success of a museum assistant. Depending on the size of your museum, you may be required to handle variety of tasks including security, ticket vending, etc. You need the skills to succeed in the multiple roles you are assigned to. In bigger places, there will be several museum assistants, concentrating on specialised tasks – customer service, sales at the museum shop, security, ticket sales, etc.

The most essential trait is that you should be able to identify the occasions correctly and should be able to deliver your duties without waiting for orders.
