Default What does a Music Therapist do?

Music therapist uses music to relive stress and tensions of the clients leading them to an emotional well being. A music therapist communicates through music and tries to impart confidence in the patients. They use different styles of music with various instruments and also encourage clients in using them. Music therapist helps the patients to express themselves and gives them a positive out look of life. Through music therapy patients will develop a deeper insight about life and become aware of their feelings. A music therapy session includes singing, playing listening and improvising, which may be done in groups or individually. Children or adults with speech and language difficulties and mental health problems may feel better with music therapy. Emotional or behavioural problems and addictions can also be cured with this therapy. Music therapist will work closely with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists or other health care professionals.
