Working towards certificate courses like City & Guilds Higher Professional Diploma for IT Practitioners (ICT Systems Support) Level 4, OCR (iPRO) Higher Level award for IT Professionals (ICT Systems Support) Level 4, BTEC HNC/HND in Computing (ICT Systems Support) levels 4 and 5, NVQs for IT Professionals at levels 3 and 4 may increase your chances. Working knowledge with windows and Linux operating systems are essential. Cisco and Microsoft certification courses are the standards in network profession. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Network Professional (CCNP) and Internet work Expert (CCIE), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) can work with benchmark standards.
